Things I find Awesome

Some People try to free themselves of Addictions….

I search for them.  I come from a family with a laundry list of addictions.  I am in a family tree filled with: smokers, alcoholics, crackheads, junkies, over-eaters, sex fiends, compulsive liars, and serial monogamists.  You’d think with a pedigree like that, I’d stay away from anything even slightly habit forming.

You’d be wrong.  I think people who say they live addiction free are probably lying.  In the off-chance that there are people out there who can live worry-free without repeating any non-essential daily task, I think you’re just bizarre.  Think of a family member of yours who NEEDS coffee in the morning.  Addict.  What about the girl who feels awful whenever she’s single.  Addict.  If you’ve ever been pissed Christmas morning because the one present you really wanted wasn’t under the tree, well you’ve been an addict.

I don’t think there’s any real difference between someone who studies for three weeks straight to ace their chemistry final, and a crackhead.  They are both seriously motivated individuals who will do almost anything to achieve their desired results, much to the chagrin of their families and friends.

I find it hard to judge one versus the other, because I’d rather hang out with someone who just got a mellow high as opposed to someone who just got a residency in a hospital.

Either way I have so many Internet addictions that I rarely get any work done.  This would be a problem if one of my addictions was career improvement.  Luckily for me, that is one addiction I have steered clear of so far.
